March 2, 2022 – We, along with the rest of the world, are deeply troubled and saddened by the hostile invasion taking place in Ukraine and its tragic impact on the Ukrainian people. On behalf of the Council of Ontario Universities (COU), we stand in unwavering support with all those who are impacted by this needless suffering and turmoil.
As a community of higher learning, we have students, faculty and staff from, and with deep ties to, Ukraine, as well as members of our Russian community who oppose the war and seek a peaceful resolution. We recognize that members of our university communities are feeling the devastating impacts of this conflict in diverse ways. Please reach out if you, or someone you know, needs support.
