TORONTO, April 11, 2019 – The Council of Ontario Universities congratulates Sault Ste. Marie MPP Ross Romano on his appointment to Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities. We look forward to working with the Minister to drive talent development and innovation in Ontario. Ontario’s universities play a central role educating students for the changing workplace and helping to build a stronger economy for all those who call Ontario home.

Minister Romano has been a champion of post-secondary education during his time at Queen’s Park including introducing Bill 79, Algoma University Amendment Act, 2019 . We are committed to continuing to work with Minister Romano to ensure that Ontario’s universities continue to be world leaders providing opportunities for students, workers, industry and Ontario communities.

On behalf of Ontario’s universities we would also like to thank Minister Fullerton for her support and work on behalf of post-secondary education and congratulate the Minister on her appointment to the role of Minister of Long-Term Care.

Ontario’s universities work to collaborate and advocate in support of their shared mission to the benefit and prosperity of students, communities and the province of Ontario.
