Ontario’s universities are dramatically transforming the 33 communities in which they are rooted – socially, culturally and economically – and are opening the door to a wide range of community-based learning opportunities for students. This report demonstrates the many ways universities, students, faculty and staff are improving their communities through partnerships that spark service learning or community-based opportunities that enrich the learning experience and also improve lives. It also touches on the economic impact of universities – locally, provincially and nationally – and the ways in which this is helping transform Ontario communities.
