The demand for clean technology in Ontario is growing as more companies look to adopt sustainable business solutions. To accelerate clean technology across the province, Trent University is joining the Environmental and Related Technologies Hub, known as EaRTH District, to help develop Ontario’s cleantech sector.
EaRTH District works with both public and private sectors, as well as Indigenous communities, to leverage the unique expertise and facilities of partner institutions across research projects, curriculum development and teaching and learning to develop cleantech solutions that benefit communities and the environment.
Trent researchers will contribute their expertise to projects in emerging areas such as improved fuel economy for both hybrid electric and hybrid hydraulic heavy vehicles, smart materials as well as sustainable food and energy systems. They will also collaborate on projects with partners across the university sector including the University of Toronto and Ontario Tech University.
