Bringing Entrepreneurship to the Arts and Social Sciences

The University of Ottawa’s Ventures Program is helping to broaden the traditional notion of entrepreneurship from a business and technology approach to one that embraces the humanities, social sciences and fine arts. By expanding on existing entrepreneurship programs, such as Enactus uOttawa and the Startup Garage, the University of Ottawa is working to break boundaries and inspire innovative new businesses and ideas. The Ventures Program includes funding for additions and changes to the curriculum that will add social innovation/entrepreneurship projects to more arts and social sciences courses. As a result, more students are benefiting from hands-on learning that fosters entrepreneurial thinking.
