Building economic resilience in Ontario’s creative industries

Ontario’s creative industries experienced much economic uncertainty over the course of the COVID-19 pandemic. Creating opportunities for arts and culture entrepreneurs to succeed will enable the industry to become more resilient.

To help future-proof careers and businesses in the cultural sector, OCAD University is creating an online cooperative marketplace where creatives can sell their work and develop the skills to thrive in an evolving economy. The platform, known as CRAFT, will promote economic resilience for artists and designers across Ontario, create a more equitable business model across the industry and offer lifelong learning and upskilling opportunities for its members.
