As part of province-wide and community efforts to increase the availability of COVID-19 booster shots and curb the spread of Omicron, the University of Guelph hosted an on-campus public vaccination clinic in partnership with local public health.
With the goal of administering up to 2,000 shots per day, the clinic provided both scheduled and drop-in services for residents 18 years and older who were looking to receive a first, second or third dose of the vaccine.
This is the second public COVID-19 vaccination clinic the university hosted with Willington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health and the Guelph Family Health Team during the pandemic. The first clinic administered nearly 82,000 doses to local residents.
