York University’s Faculty of Environmental Studies (FES) expanded its summer program to offer students the opportunity of taking a Semester Abroad at Las Nubes. This is a unique program open to all York University students to take classes taught by York’s faculty at Costa Rica’s EcoCampus. The courses take a community-based approach, developing collaborative projects that provide learning opportunities. The emphasis of the program is on experiential education, building on long-standing relationships with diverse communities and groups in southern Costa Rica, including women’s organizations, agricultural producers and cooperatives, environmental protection and social justice groups and Indigenous communities.
