Retaining local talent in communities across Ontario is critical to driving regional economic development. Through the Windsor-Essex Career Apprenticeship Program (WECAP), the University of Windsor is helping graduating students launch their careers in the Windsor Essex region.
In partnership with Invest WindsorEssex, WECAP connects fourth-year arts, humanities and social sciences students with a full-time paid internship opportunity with a local employer. The program helps students develop and refine their professional skills through mentorship, skills development and opportunities to contribute to the development of an organization.
In preparation for the program, students are also supported by the university’s Career Development & Experiential Learning office through workshops and one-on-one career advising to enhance their career readiness.
