Electric vehicles (EVs) can be costly for the average Ontarian to repair and maintain. That’s why Dr. Wilson Wang at Lakehead University is exploring the development of new techniques and tools that could help make EVs safer, more reliable and less expensive.
According to Northern Ontario Business, the research program could help lead the replacement of existing preventative maintenance strategies, which can be costly to users, and reduce repair and maintenance costs by preventing periodic machine shutdowns during manual inspections.
The program will also help develop the highly skilled talent needed in the fast-growing EV sector, such as researchers, engineers and industry experts, to improve production quality, productivity and safety.
