Global AI Competition Provides Hands-On Learning for Students

A unique learning opportunity at the AI Summer Games in Germany for two Algoma University computer science students led to deep learning and data exploration in Artificial Intelligence (AI) as well as a gold and bronze medal win for the students.

The two students gained hands-on experience in areas such as machine learning and AI ethics. They also had the opportunity to collaborate with international teams as they engaged in lectures and labs, and participated in discussions on AI security and trends. The diverse environment also provided the students with rewarding exchanges with renowned experts and allowed them to learn about state-of the-art developments in AI.

Algoma was the only Canadian university among seven post-secondary institutes internationally to participate, providing a truly unique learning experience for their students on the innovative capabilities and future applications of AI.
