Ontario’s agri-food sector contributes to $47 billion to provincial GDP, which makes it a leading industry and critical player in COVID-19 economic recovery.
York University’s innovation hub, YSpace in partnership with the Regional Municipality of York Region and the Canadian Agricultural Partnership, is supporting local talent by connecting entrepreneurs in the agri-food industry with the tools and skills they need to help bolster the local food industry and bring new solutions to market faster.
Through the program, founders gain access to customized workshops, dedicated mentors from across grocery retailers, such as Whole Foods, Longo’s, Metro and Sobey’s, and a support network to help increase sales and acquire new distribution channels, helping bring innovative products to market that address the diverse dietary needs of Ontarians.
