In an effort to help families cope during COVID-19, Donna Koller, professor at Ryerson University’s School of Early Childhood Studies, compiled information through a digital resource webpage for parents and caregivers to help children deal with the impacts of a health crisis.
Koller is helping kids deal with the emotional impact of social distancing and the affects the pandemic has had on their lives by promoting family conversations and encouraging open communication.
By sharing accurate information using basic facts and simple language, promoting child participation in infection control practices, as well as creating schedules and routines, Koller hopes to alleviate some of the anxiety that kids are experiencing during this challenging time.
