“Everything is changing quickly, but we’re all learning and adjusting. We are one community and we all want to make the situation better. And it’s important to have something to focus on, instead of just sitting at home and worrying.”

Implementing digital technology solutions to help students succeed

To help slow the spread of COVID-19 – Ontario universities shifted to online course delivery and other alternative modes of teaching and learning to help students on a case-by-case basis completing assignments on time and staying on track with their studies.

In order to help individual students meet their unique educational goals, university professors at Carleton University have learned to quickly adapt new technologies to come up with solutions for delivering new ways of teaching, presenting and assessing work.

This quick adaptation by both faculty and staff demonstrates a commitment to being compassionate and flexible with students — and to keeping the university’s core academic mission on track in a quickly changing environment.
