University of Guelph researcher Edward Koning is investigating the economic and social impacts of the inclusion of immigrants in Canada, particularly whether offering them full social benefits and services provides the best solution to integration, as well as looking at sources of dislike. Koning’s research centers on the politics of immigration and integration, with a particular focus on North America and Western Europe, including ethnic and linguistic diversity, minority politics, and social policies with a focus on comparative differences in the access immigrants have to social programs in Western welfare states.
