Women continue to be underrepresented in science, engineering, technology and math (STEM) programs and professions. That’s why Ontario Tech University and Bruce Power Engineering are helping increase women’s participation in the sector through the Bruce Power Engineering Internships for Women program.
The program offers four-month internship opportunities at Bruce Power to women studying nuclear engineering at Ontario Tech, where these students gain the critical technical and soft skills they need to be job-ready once they graduate.
Students also have access to further skills development opportunities through additional work-integrated learning, such as workshops and mentorship with women currently working in nuclear energy – ultimately equipping participants with a transferrable skillset to fill in-demand positions in nuclear engineering across the region.
