Increasing vaccination rates through community partnerships

As more Ontarians become eligible for their second COVID-19 shot, health care centres require more space to accommodate an increased number of appointments.

To support community and provincial vaccination efforts, Lakehead University partnered with the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre (TBRHSC) to transform one of its buildings into a vaccination clinic with the capacity to inject between 500 and 600 shots per day and over 3,000 per week.

Since moving off-site and opening a clinic on campus, TBRHSC more than tripled the daily number of doses they were administering at their existing site within the hospital.
