Indigenizing the media lens

Laurentian University researcher Taima Moeke-Pickering is strengthening reconciliation by reframing the representations of Canadian Indigenous issues in both traditional and social media, and paying particular attention to the way Indigenous Missing and Murdered Women and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission are framed by both media forms.

As an associate professor in the School of Indigenous Relations at Laurentian, Moeke-Pickering has extensive experience working with international Indigenous communities, big data analysis, and alternative methodologies.
