Inspiring Future Engineers Through a Love of STEM

General Motors of Canada and UOIT have partnered to provide learning opportunities to children in elementary and secondary schools that inspire a love of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Thanks to this partnership, more than 8,500 students in the Durham Region are gaining access to summer camps and school programming that will demonstrate how STEM connects to their everyday lives, and teachers are being offered programs that equip them with the knowledge, confidence and tools they need to integrate STEM into the classroom.

“This collaboration with the University of Ontario Institute of Technology is a continuation of our commitment to advancing STEM opportunities and education. As GM looks to grow our talent pipeline to lead the future of mobility through technologies in autonomous development, connectivity, electrification and car sharing, we plan to build on the success of these programs and fund further initiatives.”
