Joining forces to create made-in-Windsor-Essex hand sanitizer

As news of the pandemic began to spread, every-day supplies, such as, hand sanitizers and disinfectant wipes were in short supply.

To help local health-care facilities, University of Windsor chemists teamed up with local businesses to bring a made-in-Windsor-Essex hand sanitizer to market.

The joint initiative is a collaboration between the researchers, Wolfhead Distillery, InnerSeasonings International and Peak Processing. The chemists develop the formula, using an ethanol-based byproduct, before sending it to Peak Processing to be bottled. At the same time, the other companies have converted their own production to provide materials and resources. For more information, visit the University of Windsor.
