To help increase vaccination rates among students, the University of Windsor collaborated with the University of Windsor Students’ Alliance, WE-Spark Health Institute and UWindsor researchers to launch and execute the “Knock Out COVID” vaccination advocacy campaign. The campaign centered around helping students and other young people in the Windsor-Essex community get the facts and supports they need to overcome vaccine hesitancy and access vaccinations. The university also hosted on-campus vaccination clinics for students, faculty, staff and the general public to help increase access to the vaccine.
Together, student leaders, researchers and community members engaged and empowered students to get vaccinated which helped increase provincial immunization rates among young people and ensured a safe return to campus.
