“I work for a small company in the food science field and the bursary allowed me to continue my educational journey. The courses have helped me advance my understanding of food science and improve my knowledge base for work.”

Offering financial assistance to address the needs of diverse learners

To eliminate financial barriers to continuing education and help people meet changing workplace demands, the University of Guelph’s OpenEd bursary program covers tuition for one course.

The bursary, funded by former and current students, as well as staff and faculty, allows students to study part-time and remotely – helping students get one step closer to achieving their educational goals.

Over the past seven years, OpenEd has awarded more than $35,000 so that students can deepen their expertise and marketability in a wide range of fields, including equine studies, agriculture and data science.
