Preventing vaccine-induced blood clots

Vaccine-related blood clots is a topic that has been debated and discussed by scientists for many years. Research from Queen’s University is shedding light on why some patients experience blood clots after receiving an adenovirus COVID-19 vaccine.

The research revealed that adenovirus vaccines can sometimes stimulate and overwork platelets, in some cases activating the clotting system, which could then increase a person’s risk for blood clots. As a result of this research, a pathogenic model is being established to help physicians and experts better understand and prevent vaccine-induced blood clots.
