Due to increased workloads during the pandemic, many hospital workers are more likely to experience burnout.
Lakehead University researchers are building smart scheduling software that can help prevent over–scheduling of hospital staff. Salimur Choudhury, an assistant professor, and his graduate student, Mahzabeen Emu, are working with Mesh Scheduling Inc., a Kingston organization that specializes in scheduling software.
The collaboration will help scale Mesh Scheduling Inc.’s software and apply it to managing the uncertainties and challenges of the health-care industry. The smart scheduling feature can also restrict unnecessary contact among staff members who interact with COVID-19 patients.
