Supporting community wellness with creative arts therapies

As the COVID-19 pandemic stretches into the spring, major disruptions to daily routines continue to weigh heavily on Ontarians’ collective mental health.

Ontario Tech University researcher Jennifer Laffier is using her expertise in mental health to offer therapy and coaching to frontline medical workers and virtual arts therapy sessions for their children. The topics covered include managing stress and supporting loved ones.

Laffier, who leads the Mental Health in Digital Age Lab at Ontario Tech, is also researching how social media use is impacting personal well-being during the pandemic.
