Work-integrated learning programs provide students with valuable experiential learning opportunities and also provide community partners with additional staff support. Wilfrid Laurier University’s community health program is helping students forge interpersonal connections with patients and support understaffed industries, such as long-term care homes, through work placements, workshops and professional observations.
Through community partnerships with the City of Brantford, John Noble Home and the County of Brant, among others, students can explore public health from a holistic perspective and gain the hands-on learning experiences and skills they need to be job-ready.
