In order to support students who may be experiencing financial challenges during COVID-19, University of Toronto has created a student emergency bursary fund for those who need it the most.
The Emergency Student Bursary Fund was established to provide $500 to $2,000 in financial supports to help qualifying undergraduate students at the University of Toronto. The fund was set up so that students could also apply more than once if their situation changes unexpectedly.
The university has disbursed over $2.3 million to over 2,100 students in need, to assist with personal costs ranging from rent, necessities, and flights home for international students.
