Home Transformative ideas for transit and transportation

“We have to get to the point of telling good stories to the bureaucrats and politicians that say, ‘this is how a proposed investment really works and this is why it is or isn’t a good idea.’”

Transformative ideas for transit and transportation

Transit is a priority issue in communities across Ontario where people are looking for ways to stay better connected. Building this high-quality transit requires insights from a range of experts and collaboration between many types of partners. That’s where iCity comes in. The collaborative project between researchers at the University of Toronto, OCAD University, the University of Waterloo, and IBM Canada is bringing experts in operations, planning and design together to find innovative ways to improve urban transportation and design efficient, sustainable cities for the well-being of individuals and society. The researchers are also partnering with municipalities, transit authorities, and the provincial government so the data and analysis they put together can make a big impact.
