Understanding the brain in action

Understanding our neural systems and the processes that underlie perception and action can lead to a deeper understanding of who we are and how we live. Researchers at York University, Queen’s University and Western University have made this a priority at the Canadian Action and Perception Network. They have partnered with a list of collaborators, including Justus-Liebig-Universitat Giessen, Philipps-Universitat Marburg, German Research Foundation, Siemens Canada, IBM Canada, SR Research, Rouge Research Inc., BrainFx, HAS-Motion Inc., Northern Digital Inc., Blackberry, and Leo Burnett Canada.

In addition to plumbing the depth of what makes us think and act the way we do, the program prepares trainees to apply this knowledge outside of the university setting, through research collaborations and internships.
