Using virtual reality in the fight against COVID-19

A number of tools and new technologies are being employed in the race to find treatments for COVID-19.

Stefan Siemann, a researcher at Laurentian University, is using virtual reality to better understand and visualize the virus, as well as, examine potential molecular targets that could block a protein created by it.

As Siemann recognizes that developing a vaccine could be months to a year down the road, he sees virtual reality as an alternative avenue for researchers to deepen their knowledge about COVID-19. Learn more about Siemann’s virtual reality work.
