Welcoming students to the City of Oshawa

To help new students feel more at home, Ontario Tech University launched Oshawa Orientation Experience ’22 in partnership with the City of Oshawa and the Greater Oshawa Chamber of Commerce.

The idea for the collaborative orientation was sparked by feedback from upper year students who suggested new students could benefit from an introduction and connection to Oshawa. Through this new and immersive orientation experience, students can attend several events and activities across the city that will introduce them to local businesses and cultural activities with the help of local guides.

By familiarizing students to the city, university and city organizers hope university students participating in the orientation will stay in the region after they graduate, helping support talent retention in the local community.
