To help address global design challenges and navigate complex issues like urbanization and climate change, the University of Toronto’s Master of Landscape Architecture (MLA) program at the John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape and Design equips students with progressive models for landscape architecture practice.
With a strong focus on integrating cutting-edge research with real-world applications, the program immerses students in urban design, climate resilience and Indigenous land-based practices. The curriculum empowers students to design environments that not only take into account aesthetic, but also socially inclusive and ecologically sustainable considerations.
Through studio-based courses and independent research, the nationally accredited program’s goal is to foster forward-thinking landscape architects who prioritize the health, safety and welfare of the public. By bridging the humanities, environmental and social sciences and engineering, the MLA program helps foster leaders who design resilient landscapes and help shape more connected communities.
