Expanding Research Capacity to Strengthen Defence and Energy Applications

With the goal to strengthen economic and national security, Brock University and Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL) have joined Neutrons Canada to bolster critical fields.

The collaboration focuses on neutron beam research – a vital tool for analyzing new materials at the atomic level. Together, researchers will use facilities like the McMaster Nuclear Reactor to develop stronger materials for defence and energy applications, while accelerating innovation in emerging fields like quantum computing, advanced materials, and defence technology.

This expansion reinforces Ontario’s position as a hub for high-tech research and advanced materials development, helping maintain the cutting-edge infrastructure and collaborative expertise needed to compete and grow in in critical sectors of the future.
