Strengthening Canada’s Defence Through Talent and Technology

By integrating specialized education and professional training into their programs, the Royal Military College of Canada (RMC) is preparing the next generation of leaders for critical defence roles.

RMC’s cybersecurity program addresses a critical defence priority – protecting military systems – by combining graduate education with hands-on research for the Canadian Armed Forces. These efforts deliver timely solutions to the Department of National Defence (DND) while training experts who can counter evolving threats. Through the Defence and Strategic Studies program, students gain a deep understanding of how governments, societies, and armed forces interact, revealing how strategy, culture and human factors drive military effectiveness.

To extend Canada’s capabilities into space, RMC researchers and students are advancing technologies such as  CubeSats (a small satellite) used for space testing and propulsion systems that avoid debris and improve positioning. Working with the Canadian Space Agency, Defence Research and Development Canada, and the DND Space Division, these projects are bolstering Canada’s strategic advantage in space.
