Students help businesses make shift to the new normal

The pandemic has forced many Niagara businesses to rethink their operations, such as moving to online sales platforms. Brock University is providing work-integrated learning opportunities for students to help these businesses and support the economic recovery of the region.

The students are employed by the university, but work in conjunction with the Greater Niagara Chamber of Commerce and the South Niagara Chambers of Commerce on a variety of projects requested by local businesses. They also work with the Niagara Region and the Small Business Enterprise Centres.

The students come from a variety of faculties and departments, giving companies access to a range of expertise, such as business, computer programming and communications. In return, students receive hands-on experience, mentorships and networking to further their career goals.
