When businesses and schools closed due to the pandemic, many students faced financial pressures from securing Internet connection at home to job loss and needing to find alternative housing if they had to self-isolate from families in remote, rural and Indigenous communities.
Shortly after COVID-19 was declared a pandemic, Laurentian University established a Student Emergency Support Fund to help these students.
