Meeting the demand for data scientists

Big Data can offer organizations strategic insights to help them make better, more informed business decisions. Data scientists play an important role in aggregating Big Data to help identify these opportunities.

To meet the growing demand for data scientists, Nipissing University introduced a new undergraduate degree in data science to help students fill the regional skills gap. The program leverages cross-disciplinary experiential learning and research opportunities to provide students with the hands-on skills they need to meet the needs of employers.

Students who pursue a career in data science will lend their expertise in Big Data analysis across several key and emerging provincial industries such as transportation, education and tech.
